Solitary White Pine I

This piece was based on a on a photo I took of an island with a lone, leaning white pine tree on Saganaga Lake at the end of the Gunflint Trail in Northeastern Minnesota near the Canadian border in October 2021. I’ve long wanted to work with needle felting white pines and playing with the many green and brown tones and hues while capturing the uniquely shaped branches and needle direction.
