This needle felting was inspired by the below photo taken by Lois Zak while she was kayaking on an early fall morning on the Seagull River near the end of the Gunflint Trail in Northeastern Minnesota.

I will forever be captivated by the periwinkles, lavenders, and blues cast against the trees, sky, and water from the late autumn snowfall. Notice the small bit of peach on a single pine tree from the first rays of the rising sun.
