Status: Split Rock Lighthouse Exhibit, October 1 – November 10, 2024

Inspired by the sight of Split Rock Lighthouse at night overlooking serene waters on Lake Superior and accompanied by the enchanting dance of the aurora borealis. When the lighthouse grounds are lit at night, they glow yellow-orange against a dark sky. Northern lights are luminaries in their own right, and each holds deep symbolism and meaning. The lighthouse is always standing guard; its beacon of light once served to warn and protect nearby vessels during poor conditions. Aurora can be a powerful, awe-inspiring reminder of how small we are in a grand, seemingly endless cosmos. Near and far. Warn and inspire. Each can accompany and complement the other without losing its impact. Together, they are a sight to behold.
